Christmas with May, Ahmed, Tamara and Zain
With Christmas fast approaching, we caught up with May, a Melbourne-based Micro Scooters ambassador, and her delightful family of four. May, Ahmed, and their little ones, Tamara and Zain, embody the spirit of adventure and outdoor joy, often fueled by their love for Micro Scooters. In our Q&A, May shares some insights into the unique traditions her family holds dear during the holidays, from creating a special family photo book to embarking on spontaneous beach trips with their trusty Micro Scooters in tow. 🛴
Micro: Hey May! Want to tell us a bit about you and your family?
May: Hello there! We’re a Melbourne-based family of four; May, Ahmed and our little ones are Tamara (7 years old) and Zain (3 years old). Zain is full of energy and curiosity. Tamara does modelling, gymnastics, music and swimming. Ahmed is a pharmacist but he’s also a trained musician so we usually have one of them playing tunes around the house. We love the outdoors! Our weekends are not just breaks from routine; they are opportunities to dive into the boundless realm of nature’s playground. We always have the kids' Micro Scooters in the car because they’re the lightest and funnest travel items to pack when we’re out.
Micro: Christmas is right around the corner! What does Christmas mean to your family?
May: For us, Christmas and New Year’s is a time for reflection and gratitude, a chance to appreciate the blessings of last year and talk about our wishes for the new one. We also love creating fond memories and special traditions with our children because that’s how we grew up. We believe that it helps us bond and connect as a family.
Micro: We love that! What fond memories are you creating these holidays?
May: This year, we will be overseas in Egypt visiting family and friends. We’ve already set up the Christmas tree and everyone is very excited about Christmas Day. We’re planning a trip to the pyramids and the new Egyptian museum (Tamara is mostly interested in the mummies). We will also go on short trip to Istanbul in Turkey.
Micro: That's such a unique Christmas! 😍 No doubt you'll make some incredible memories! Do you have any other traditions that make Christmas extra special for you?
May: Every year, I put together a special family photo book. It’s like a big scrapbook filled with memories of our adventures and things we love to do together. But the most exciting is when we get to the end of the album - the Christmas section! This is where our festive photos go, especially the ones where we were our matching pyjamas (sounds cliche, I know! But it’s loads of fun!).

Micro: When you're not in your matching PJs, does the family enjoy getting out and about over the holidays?
May: Absolutely! Spontaneous trips to the beach are our favourite. And with lots of food and things to pack, Micro Scooters are very convenient and easy to bring along. We also enjoy camping and nothing brings us more joy that the kids being wild and free as they scoot/skate around.

Micro: What Micro Scooters do the kids have?
May: Tamara has the Micro Sprite Light Up Neochrome Scooter, which we believe is the coolest and trendiest scooter in the market. She always gets compliments when she rides them. Her favorite feature is the wheels that light up. Tamara also has the Micro Limited edition Skates, which is a great Christmas present for children who want to try inline skating.
Zain has the Mini Micro Deluxe 3 Wheel Scooter. We love this scooter because it’s sturdy and it goes really fast for a 3 wheel scooter.
Both kids have the Micro Kids Scooter Bike Helmet Pattern.
Micro: What’s on your kids' wishlists this year?
May: Tamara would love new knee and elbow pads from Micro as well as another Barbie of course! Zain is just into hot wheels right now.
Micro: Do you have any tips or advice for other young families to help bring some extra special Christmas joy to their holidays this year?
May: The best advice in my opinion is to be flexible and go with the flow. Holidays can be stressful because they disrupt our routines, so it’s important to accept that a little bit of chaos is part of the fun. Planning fun things to do and trips, even if it’s something small, can make a big difference.
Micro: Where can people find out more about you?
May: We're @worldoftamtam on Instagram 🙂
